REQUIREMENTS TO IMPORT DOGS/CATS INTO SRI LANKA
- Microchip must be inserted before rabies vaccine is administered
- International health certificate, export license, -This will be facilitated by United Pet Express.
- Copy of owner’s passport
DOG
- Negative test results for heartworm (Dirofilariaimmitis) with (ELISA/PCR//Knott’s) test done 7 days prior embarkation. If
not the country free status declared a government veterinarian.
- Negative test results for blood parasites including Babesiosis and Leishmaniasis.
- The animal was treated with a broad- spectrum anthelminthic recognized for its ability to eliminate internal helminths
of dog, within seven (07) days prior to shipment
- The animal was treated for external parasites within seven (07) days immediately prior to shipment using a reliable
parasiticide.
CAT
- Negative test results for heartworm (Dirofilariaimmitis)with (ELISA/PCR//Knott’s) test done 7 days prior embarkation. If not the country free status declared a government veterinarian.
- The cat has been treated for intestinal parasites using a reliable broad- spectrum anthelmintic and, for external parasites within seven (07) days immediately prior to shipment.
Original documents to come along with the pet(s)
1. International Health Certificate (this will be provided by Us)
2. Vaccination Records -The record must have pets' vaccination histories with tattoos or chips, rabies shots (anti-rabies
inoculation) older than 30 days but it must not be expired.
Note:
- Pet owner must arrive in the UK within 5 days of pet(s) arrival in the UK. Otherwise shipment will be considered as commercial.
